| | Five reasons why Solitary Vision is different
One huge difference is unlike your regular freelance designer, this boy knows the difference between something that looks nice on a screen and what is actually feasible on a printing press. There is nothing more disappointing than seeing a screen showing tremendous artwork and seeing a drab lifeless printed result. It shouldn't happen, but you'd be amazed how many times it does.
The second difference is I enjoy what I do and don't take things too seriously. I'm not the kind of guy to freak out if you demand a fifth draft of something. I understand only too well that some people don't know what they want until they see it. I don't take things too seriously, but nobody has ever questioned how professional I can be. I'll have fun but I can promise you I'll bend over backwards to help you if I can, because if you look after a customer chances are they'll stick with you. Not only am I better looking than most freelance designers, I'm just plain better.
The third difference is I'm not limited to one
application. I can create your artwork in Photoshop, InDesign, Quark or my personal
favourite, Illustrator, which is what I used to draw the marvellous iMac at the bottom of the page. You want a high res pdf for your printers to use? Sure
thing. You want stuff specifically to upload to a website? No problem -
I did this one, and my personal one (see More About James). Why? Because I'm that damn good.
The fourth
difference is coming from a print background instead of out of an art
college means I know about all aspects of what you need printing, so if
you need help talking to a printers, or finding a suitable one, I'll
give you all the support you can handle. I have a network of people I use who print everything from business cards to PVC banners.
The fifth and biggest
difference is what I cost. I don't do that hourly rate nonsense. You
want something doing, I'll give you a flat fee and it'll only increase
if you start adding extras. If I design something, then spend a couple
more hours doing something else to see if it turns out better because I
have the time, why should you pay for that? You shouldn't, so you won't.
Has any of that got you thinking? If so, you can find out who you're dealing with by clicking here.
An Apple iMac drawn by James Gaden using Adobe Illustrator CS (and Photoshop CS for the screen content). And it was done on an iMac just like the one pictured too.
You're fascinated. I can tell.
